Body language is when you cry, look someone in the eye, or simply smile. It’s said that people communicate 90% of how their feeling through body language. Most people subconsciously display body language. You smile without thinking about right? Do you have to think about laughing? No. Body language is important because it shows who you are. Body language is useful when you need to make a good first impression, for say a boss or client. Take this scenario: You are looking for a new job and just meet your boss for the first time. You never look him in the eye, speak softly, and hunch your back. You are over qualified for the job and sure to get it. One week later you get a call and find out you didn’t get the job. But why? You where incredibly overqualified and had a better resume than all the other people looking for the job. Simple, the boss didn’t trust you. He didn’t feel you were the right guy for the job.
The body language displayed in that scenario is what I call Bad Body Language or BBL. If you displayed Good Body Language or GBL you would have gotten the job. But not only is body language good for someone looking for work but in other fields as well. Salesmen and people who need to make good first impression will want to learn GBL. If you’re making a business proposal GBL is highly necessary. Any time you need to make a good first impression GBL is KEY. Now that you know what body language is, what exactly is GBL?
